I want to talk to you about the BIGGEST thing
that has hurt my business during the last few years…

I’m talking about “fear”… Perhaps you can relate,
there’s a great opportunity in front of you to have
a great result… yet you fear the steps that it will
take to get there.

For example, it always scared me to “meet people”
and so I denied a request to speak at an event
earlier this year…

That event probably would have added thousands
of dollars in income… And really helped me, but I
rejected the offer… Why? Because I was SCARED
of something… What? Being rejected, having stage
fright, whatever the case may be…

Next week, I’ll be heading out to the Warrior Event
in Raleigh, NC and hanging out with some pretty
cool marketers… You have to dominate your fears
to achieve success…

So that’s my story with fear… One of the things I hear
many times from my readers, is that they are AFRAID
of success… If your saying “seriously??”, well… Think
about this….

Did you ever think about creating a product, and how
much money you could make off that product? Or think
about creating a blog and how much money you could
make off that blog?… But that something stopped you..

Maybe it was “I’m not good enough”, or “I couldn’t
do that”… Those excuses all come from FEAR, fear
of not achieving the success you want….

You have to take chances, risks, experience new things
to be successful… otherwise you won’t be successful

The most powerful thing I could ever say to you, was
that you can succeed at everything you try… If  you just
try it. You can’t let things like “fear” hold you back from
the success you’re made to achieve.

Go ahead and achieve it .

Yesterday I was driving down the road… and
all of a sudden I hit a bird that had been
sitting idle on the side of the road.

Yup, the silly thing decided it would like
to take flight as I drove along.

…It just came right at my front windshield.

Luckily, it bounced off and no damage was
done… other then the slight shock to me.

However, it really made me think about how
tiny things can be huge distractions… huge
obstacles for our business.

That bird was a huge distraction, for me the
rest of the drive, “was it ok?” “was my car
ok?”.. All that stuff was running through my
mind.

And yet, it was only a small thing. The bird
was of course fine, and the car was of course
fine.

Small things are REALLY big distractions for
us, and if you can’t ignore “small issues” your
not going to be able to grow your business, because
you’re focused ON the small stuff.

A great example of this is people who write
e-books, and like to get all fancy. You know
the headers, graphics, all inside the book?

Well, think about this… While you were making
that epic looking book, you could have made a
sales letter so that someone would ACTUALLY
see that book.

There was really no need for those graphics, was
there? Other then you sweating the small stuff because
you thought HEY ITS GOTTA BE THERE.

Point Blank: You gotta focus on the BIG stuff, and
let the small stuff fall into place.

One of my mentors really sparked this into me, he
said “get your products done in a few hours, one
sitting always”. Why did he make that point? He wanted
me to put out QUALITY stuff instead of wasting my time
sweating all the small things in products.

…Just get it done.

WHY?

I mean, if it’s as easy as everyone promises.. why doesn’t everyone just go out and make money online? everyone that wants to.. everyone that is interested.. Why isn’t every person whose ever said “I want to make money online” making money right now…

I’ve found their are three main reasons…

• Lack Of Action
• Lack Of Direction
• Shiny Thing Syndrome

And if you’re wondering what those things mean.. let me explain. Lack Of Action is quite simple, YOU KNOW HOW TO DO BUT YOU DON’T DO which is a very common thing in Internet Marketing, people have more knowledge then ANYONE else, yet they don’t use any of it.. BIG HINT: it doesn’t help you to KNOW how to do, it helps you to actually DO.

And Lack Of Direction means that your Internet Marketing efforts are ALL OVER THE PLACE. For example, are you that dude who was doing offline marketing last week, this week is a blogger, and next week will be doing mobile? Yet, none of them have given you ANY SUCCESS. If you don’t stick with something ITS GONNA FAIL (and you can’t say that it doesn’t “WORK” if you don’t give it a REAL try).

Finally, Shiny Thing Syndrome, this is for people who love to hear that some stripper found a cd (oh wait, didn’t she steal it? — something like that), and made 100′s of thousands of dollars online USING a one button solution.. (and of course they will sell you that button for just $47). Maybe that’s not YOUR shiny thing, but it is for some.. maybe your the kinda guy/girl that’s happy with a LARGE INCOME PROMISE.

By discussing Shiny Thing Syndrome, I’m not saying NOT to buy “products”, I’m saying don’t buy products because their shiny. Only buy a product on Internet Marketing, if you’re going to take it & make money with it..

This week, I’m starting one of my staff members on a new system, she’s gonna be testing a product I bought in 2010 or 2011… (That I haven’t implemented yet). but guess what? I bought that product knowing full well that in a YEAR or so, when the time was available, I could give this product to my outsourcer, and she could do well with it.

And look, I get e-mails every day asking me to help people with their businesses, the first thing I tell them is to stop DOING those three things, and start planning out what YOU want to do. what your goals are, monetary & niche-wise.. what you want to do.. what you want to work in… baby care niche? internet marketing niche? self help? — That’s what I tell these people.. The point is, webinars are a great way to build up more income for your business, and to be able to connect with current customers of your business. However, their is a big problem with webinars. That problem is “show ups”. When you run a webinar, you typically send out a registration page and you can get hundreds to thousands of people that register. However, in many cases less then 50% will actually come to your webinar. Now, consider if you’re running a promotional webinar, how much money is lost because of all those people just not coming.

…And why don’t they come? Well, typically it’s because they’ve totally forgotten that they had planned to attend a webinar at all. Personally, I remember the next day, and go “oh my gosh”, because I’ve missed the webinar. Now, there is a very simple solution to this problem, that solution is to remind people of your webinar closer to the call so they will remember to show up.

Commonly, people assume that just with the “gotowebinar” reminder e-mails, that everyone will remember to attend a webinar, that’s not the case in the slightest. These e-mails, in fact go out almost an hour before the webinar, and many people can forget a lot of things in the span of an hour, and will still forget to attend your webinars. Another tactic, is to add people to a mailing list, which you need extra software to do. Then, they get e-mails 30 minutes before, etc for the webinar.

However, both of those tactics have one big whole, a lot of people don’t check there e-mail every hour, or every few minutes – so they won’t actually get the e-mail. The solution is, to connect with them in a new way. That way is through mobile phones. You see, over 97% of SMS messages are actually opened, compared to e-mail in which a 30% open rate is actually fairly good. As well, most people will answer the phone when they get a phone call.

Which means, that if you could remind people via there mobile devices, through a phone call or an SMS message you could instantly increase your webinar show up rates exponentially, because people would actually be reminded to come – and would read the reminder. Unlike e-mail, it’s actually going somewhere that most people check, and read.

If you’re looking to increase show ups to your webinars, then you need a system with automated calling, SMS, and integration with auto responders — so that you will be able to increase show ups to your webinars.

Recently, the big trend is to sell the secrets, which is in essence the hot sauce that everyone wants to buy in Internet Marketing… I’ve been known to buy a lot of the spicy stuff, and lately I’ve noticed a trend… The peeps that buy more then me (A LOT MORE), have a problem, and that problem is, the way they look at a purchase.

If I was to purchase anything, I don’t care what it is… If it’s related to Internet Marketing, then I’m talking about that, I am going to buy it so that I can get new ideas for MY business ~ But the latest trend among most peeps is that when you buy a so called “ACTIONABLE” guide, you take action on the dets in that guide.. And while in theory that sounds GREAT, it’s just not… Why? Because most people (95%+) will never take action on ANY guide that they purchase..

I mean here are just some of the reasons.

• “This isn’t right for me”… – I get this one as a refund request all the time… This wasn’t right for me, this isn’t something that I can do.
• I don’t know how
• This doesn’t work.

These are all reasons that I get for people not taking action. So buyers, listen up. What you’re buying is not a business plan for you, nah…. What you’re buying is someone ELSES business plan, that they USED to achieve success and now they’re giving you the opportunity to use it.

But think of that sentence again. It’s THEIR business plan, which means ~ that even though it worked for them, that doesn’t mean its going to work exactly the SAME for YOU. You need to have your OWN business plan.

So am I saying screw products, just make things up for yourself?

Heck no, what I am saying, is you need to learn the tactics of BITS and pieces. When you buy someone’s plan for making money, take out KEY ideas, KEY plans, and then use those to form your OWN business plan… Your business plan MUST be something that…

• You can use.
• You will like to do.
• And you believe will be profitable

What I’m saying by You will like to do, is that… It can’t feel like a day job to you, it needs to be something that you will enjoy doing and look forward to doing every day. If you’re sick and tired of your freaking day job, why in the world would you move online and do something that you DON’T WANT TO DO?

That pretty well defeats the purpose… So buyer’s seriously, make up a plan of attack from the resources you read, don’t just take them as they are… because guess what? At the end of the day, you could end up finding that although they worked for Joe Schmoe, they may not work exactly right for you… We’re all unique peeps, so be unique… Don’t turn into someone else.
